The season starts here

Summer? Pah. Just a waste of time until the main event comes back. And it's back, as ever heralded by the harbinger of high-class magazinual entertainment, FourFourTwo - with its perennially popular Season Preview extra magazine.

What's in the bag? Oh, only the following:

THE A TO Z OF THE NEW SEASON

* Everything about 2009/10, from Arshavin to Zhirkov

* Also including Burnley, Keano and Carlo (Ancelotti)

* Full access behind the scenes at Swindon Town's pre-season training.
Who'll fail the fearsome Fat Test
?

* Will Sparky's Dream Team turn nightmarish?

FACE TO FACE WITH FOOTBALL'S BIG NAMES

Dozens of exclusive interviews with people like:

* Arshavin, Michael Owen, Karim Benzema, Jack Collison

* Robbie Savage, Steve Claridge, David Jones, John Barnes

* Andy Murray (tenniser), Kevin Poole (veteran), John Kettley
(weatherman) and The Fixture List Compiler

LESSONS FROM HISTORY

Football's finest features, including:

* Why tough new drug tests mean a top star WILL be busted

* War is over in Vietnam, but not at its biggest derby

* Elton John's Watford – Mozart wigs in the boardroom!
Elton and Graham Taylor drunkenly singing Christmas carols!

AND MUCH MUCH MORE

* Redesigned World Football section – more to read!

* Win a trip to Barcelona or Real Madrid!

* Surreal podcasts and classic comics!

* Ex-Loaded editor James Brown on the downfall of Leeds!

So that's all for you in the new issue of FourFourTwo, out Saturday August 1. To miss it would be folly.

Why won't they stop making that Arshavin tongue-wagging photo again and again?

RE:THE A TO Z OF THE NEW SEASON

Nice to read that you're tipping Burnley for the drop. I think that's quite delicious considering how catastrophically wrong your predictions of us last season were.

Mattyboosh: We tipped Birmingham to go up last season. Sadly, we also backed Charlton to finish third...

(You might also want to take issue with last year's Burnley fan expert - a Clarets website editor - who predicted "Probably mid-table, although top 10 is a chance". So it's by no means just us...)

Dear FFT Team, would you be so generous as to bring back the book review section you had in this site in the past?

I used to find it helpful checking here online instead of flipping through past issues trying to find which book is really interesting.

Thank you

A letter from the Miami Ultras supporters club to David Beckham.

Dear Mr. Beckham,

We want to tell you about our dream.

We dream of a Major League Soccer team in South Florida.

We ask you to consider Miami, FL. for expansion as the 20th team of Major League Soccer. We know you have that option. We know if anyone can bring the right investors and bring the fans to the stadium it is you, David Beckham.

South Florida has had a love affair with the game since the old days of NASL, when Cubillas, Hudson and Best (Among others) played for the Ft Lauderdale Strikers. We fell in love with the Miami Fusion, a team that should never have been shutdown in 2001. We have a rich Soccer history. We are sure a team in South Florida will be successful if we have investors with the right vision, who will give this market a chance. To further explore the pros of Miami / Ft Lauderdale please read the following article thekartikreport.wordpress.com/.../the-case-for-miami-or-fort-lauderdale

We are the Miami Ultras, South Florida Soccer Fans and we have started a campaign to gather pledges for season tickets for a potential South Florida MLS team. We will present you or any investor willing to give this town a chance with the emails and addresses of all those who join our cause.

We ask that you take the time to visit our season ticket page and our site

We believe you will fall in love with this town if you give it a chance. You can reach us at this email or phone numbers provided.

Great World Cup review in this month's mag (August 2010). Was expecting a long, tedious, factual summary but instead an excellent, witty, short and sweet re-cap of the day by day events, well done FFT.

A loyal supporter.
