Denilson is reportedly now playing in the Vietnamese League. Or rather, on the payroll at a Vietnamese club. The reason he has not yet played, depending on who you listen to, is either an injury or because it is "too hot".

Inverting the Pyramid is a superb read and by far the best book i've read in a long while. Amazing to see the development through time through a Herbert Chapman inspired WM to the first fulls backs in Brazil's 1958 winning side.

What interests me is that you have two United centrebacks in the top 34: Ferdinand at 9 and Vidic at 34. This is a real compliment to Vidic; Ferdinand has been talked about for years. I'm a neutral, not a United fan and believe that the club really turned the corner when the two centrebacks teamed up...

How there can be no Pepe Reina, defies logic quite frankly. Out of all the world class keepers, his distribution is 2nd to none, he acts almost like a sweeper. Yes there are better shot stoppers than him, casillas, buffon, but reina is still a top quality stopper, hes kept the most clean sheets in the prem past 3 seasons running, he organizes his defence superbly, and this is where i think he is the best in the world, neither buffon nor Iker can touch him in this department (its no coincidence Reals defence has been shocking over the years, Iker has a part to play in that). I think the knowledgable posters on this board would find it hard to disagree with that. Im not saying he should be in the top 10, but at least in the top 100.

I agreee, comments are far too harsh. Robinho's debut goal was an excuse to take a look back on other players who have done it, some hit and some miss. He defo wont be as hellishly bad as Shevchenko tho. He looks good, but to be fair that was pretty obvious. Lazy passing was his only fault I would say.

sorry mate, reyes didnt score on his arsenal debut because he played against middlesbrough in the carling cup on debut if i remember rightly and was transferred in a January transfer window.

city played well on sat but i was really impressed with chelsea and as for robinho, im not sure anyone knows if he will be hit or miss. even blues will admit that one.

think the comments bout the article are harsh, he is just explaining that City fans shouldnt get carried away by a goal on debut as career's can still go two ways from a debut goal.

I still don't think "I told you so" is in order. Spain played badly for months of Euro qualifiers sans Raúl. I don't consider eeking out draws or last minute victories against lesser teams to be the sign of a great manager, but to his credit, Aragonés has learned from the defeat against France. He is quite right when he says that youth was a detriment to our World Cup ambitions, and I don't underestimate the timely maturity of players, like Cesc, that have made the difference. Sure, Aragonés deserves credit for bringing us to the final, but to say that we have reached this point because of the absence of Raúl would be a Marca-style exaggeration. With the underwhelming play of Torres and Güiza (whose penalty miss could have been costly), Raúl might have been useful; then again the 44-goal man might have choked, too, but I certainly feel that he deserved the chance.

True. More youth is needed. However, I question why DelPiero did not start. I know he is getting up there in age but I think he would have been more efficient and effective than Cassano. In the absence of Pirlo Italy clearly needed a creative force that DelPiero could have provided. Hopefully, when Toni shaves his 'tache the goals will come back.

Roy Keane IS a foreigner!! Born and bred in The Republic Of Ireland (the operative word being "Republic"), Keane is not British in any way. He qualifies for a British passport, but so do many othe rplayers playing in Britain. Ireland has been a sovereign state, separate from Britain and England for ove rhalf a century. England, palese get a grip, Keane is 100% Irish, and 0% British or English.

Did u even read the article it said those coming from Ireland arnt counted as its nt so much of a coulture shock so Roy Keane isnt a foreigner cause he wis only born in Ireland, or does tht mean u think ppl form Wales and Scotland are foreign too!

He is solid as an iron girder in the back for United and his interceptions go unnoticed, his headers unobserved, and his numerous clearances utterly bereft of report. Rio has not been getting the credit he deserves for a long time and for some one like Capello to put him as captain says a lot about the standard he is consistently achieving.

He is a quality player and showed in the liverpool game (by kicking Torres all over the pitch) that he can do the dirty work.

Lets be honest Gerrard and Terry keep their best for their clubs were as Rio does the job regardless.
