Super Spot The Difference: Robinho

Monday 15 September 2008 10:00

La Liga Loca’s inaugural Super Spot the Difference competition was such a rip-roaring success that we’ve decided to do it all over again.

And this time the prize is even better than ever. We’ve giving away 45,000 tickets for the Camp Nou*, safe in the knowledge that no one else will bother to use them.

So, spot the difference between this:

"Robinho is more complete than Leo Messi ... a potential Balon d’Or. Which he will be in 2009."
[Tomás Roncero, October 2007]

This:

"Robinho, 2008’s Balon d’Or winner."
[Tomás Roncero, January 2008]

This:

"Robinho will win the Balon d’Or and Madrid’s 10th European Cup."
[Tomás Roncero, May 2008]

And, er, this:

"We’ve never seen Robinho play brilliantly in any of the big games; I can’t remember a single great game at the Camp Nou, or the Calderón or the Allianz Arena. The best bullfighters do it in the biggest bullrings."
[Tomás Roncero, August 2008, just after Robinho announced his desire to leave Madrid].

Can you delineate the dissimilarities in these pics?

*Note: We're not actually giving away 45,000 tickets to the Camp Nou. Or naming the Blue Peter cat.

About Tim Stannard and Simon Talbot

When he isn't fighting the evil forces of flamenco or attracting libel actions for La Liga Loca, Tim Stannard is building his media empire in Madrid. As well as contributing to Football365 and doing odd jobs elsewhere, Tim also works in the glamorous world of television as a producer, script writer, news editor, coffee boy and stand-in fluffer.

Simon Talbot? Well, he's a man of mystery.

Come on guys, pointing out inconsistencies in Roncerdo's 'journalistic' output is like shooting fish in a barrel ;)

Loved Robinho's club shield punching celebrations after scoring - I bet City was the club he dreamed of playing for as a child...
