Subject: Sunderland sign Cissé and Healy

Sunderland have confirmed the signings of Djibril Cissé and also David Healy, the former on a season long loan and the latter for an undisclosed fee. Sources close to the club claim that Anton Ferdinand has also decided that a move to Sunderland is in his best interests.

What do people think about the Sunderland spending spree? Not only this season but last? Me being a Sunderland fans I am obviously delighted that we are attracting players of the calibre of Cissé, Diouf and Malbranque to the footbll club. But do you think that it is a good thing that a club like Sunderland are trying to regain their once proud position amongst English footballs elite?

Sunderland lost 16 in a row, played Preston away in the Championship and 1400 went.

Newcastle lost 4 in a row, played Everton away in the Premier League and 900 went.

They tell us we have shite fans...

amazing signings by roy of the keane this season,  really gutting for a everton fan to be honest.  when a football team that is not [playing in europe can

get quality like cisse it really saddens me that david moyes is unable to bring in anything to the park.  top ten finish for sunderland this season would not surprise me.  good luck to them, they have one of the most passionate managers in the prem at the moment too,.

Sunderland's spending has been very good, gaining experienced Premier League players will mean they have a good chance of finishing higher this season.

What Manchester does today, the world does tomorrow.

Have you seen Sunderland's opening games. Had it not been for Torres's brilliance Sunderland could have come away with something. And they won today. I am quite impressed. Top 10 finish for them.

Keane's signed some cracking players for Sunderland this summer but it's a bit worrying that teams need to spend a vast amount of money to get to mid-table

With the price tags being put on players these days, you will have to spend at least 5million just to get an average/half decent player. Its no wonder why teams are having to spend large amounts of money just to reach mid-table. With a team like Sunderland it isnt always about the money. It is well known that players are put off the area because it doesn't have "trendy" bars or good enough shops for the wags. Anyway, Sunderland have made some excellent signings compared to the last few years. My prediction is for them to finish 8th-12th.

Sunderland....give them 5 years of premiership football, and they will be challenging the top 6, if they keep buying in big name and decent players, they will definetly be challenging.
