Subject: who should take beckham's place on the right?

beckham surely won't be around come euro 2012, and maybe earlier than that. but who will take his place on the right midfield berth? in my opinion, there are four realistic candidates, and that is aaron lennon, david bentley, shaun wright phillips and theo walcott. if england plays 4-3-3, then i think lennon, SWP and walcott would fight for the right forward berth, but then again theo might be deployed in the lefty side or as a striker.if it's 4-4-2, than david bentley's game would suit it more, with SWP close behindas their crossing abilities are better than the other two. but then again, it's a good problem to have. let's hope there we'll have the same nice problem with the left side, goalkeeping and striker position!

    He played yesterday.

Bentley - Not quick enough to be a modern marauding winger.

    SWP - Lacks consistancy.

Lennon - Lacks the drive to get past players with his burning pace, lacks power enough to hit decent crosses.

Walcott - Seems the best option and the best compromise between the 4.

    1. Aaron Lennon- completely useless

    2. Bently- Exactly the same as beckham- except can play the full 90 with the same intensity. England needs to go in a different direction though

    3. SWP would be a good choice- but i would love to see him play just behind the striker- as he has amazing shooting ability and awarenes in the box- but is always forced out on the wing

    4. Theo Walcott without a doubt should be the next 1st choice right winger for England.

    i'd have 'em:

S: Rooney/Defoe; F: SWP; LW: Joe Cole; RW: Walcott; CM: Gerrard/Lampard (for F! sakes play one at a time); CDM: Barry.... and the defense... i dont really care...

If we could find another player to play on the left then i would go for Joe Cole. Please no one suggest Stewart Downing. He's way out of his depth. If not then is has to be Walcott.

SWP for now but I'd give it Walcott as soon as he got a bit more 1st team action.

well, we can almostcollectively agree that walcott's the man for the right. but ithink he can be utilized as a striker or in Henry's left forward role. then let one of the mingers play on the right. well, it depends on the formation really. the reason i wish walcott would be a proper striker is because im sick of the dearth of strikers, and wayne rooney tries his best passing off as one. well, one thing for sure is that it's worrying if stewart downing can become a permanent fixture in the squad. he's decent, but international class? not really.

Walcott is the man for the right.  Joe Cole or ASHLEY YOUNG for the left.  Matured into a fine, fine player has Young.  One of my favourite players of the moment.
