What does everybody think? People have been writing him off recently but his strike rate at Newcastle is virtually identical to Berbatov's at Spurs and Owen will actually put some effort in. Rooney and Tevez also have similar scoring records as the Newcastle Owen and we all know how prolific he was earlier in his career. Although he seems injury prone and past his peak, a largely fit Michael Owen is a quality player and on a free transfer with reasonable wages, it is a good deal. As much as i despise Man United, I think Fergie has pulled another masterstroke out of the bag.

i think that with him getting good supply he will score the goals

Signing of the season. 15 League goals and valuable experience if he fits in, and if he's injured he cost nothing yet will make a bomb from merchandising.

Big mistake, United now have the slowest attack line with Berba and Mickey, Owen has lost whatever he used to have which made him a good striker, pace and the ability to poach

Wait and see if he shows for pre-season training; if he does Sir Alex should take it easy to prevent

him from sustaining an injury. :)

I said back in December 08 Owen would be a good buy, NOW the supposed best manager in Football adds him.

Lol, its a mistake because when he does play he'll be absolutely useless and wont help them at all

don't really think you've thought that through ^^ when owen was playing at newcastle he was better than 1 in 3.

Owen will score goals because he'll be surrounded by good players that will create chances all day long.  Not like when he was with Newcastle with no service up to him.

hmmm its a tough one he was a great player in his prime and could play for any team in the world back then but he is slowly declining ever since he went to madrid if he gels well with the team at manchester he could do well

he didn't have any pace for the 70 odd games he played at newcastle, and he still got 26 goals surrounded by a bunch of spastics. surrounded by the abundance of quality at man utd, you think he'll struggle? i think you've got a personal problem with michael, anyone can see he can finish.
