Subject: Video Technology . . . Yay or Nay?

After Eduardo's recent Olympic standard dive against Celtic on Wednesday, it's becoming an increasing necessity to move today's game on. I think it should be used for penalties and goal line decisions only.

    Thoughts?

If you're going to use it, why the f*** would you limit it's uses?! just to keep the ref in a job?

if they're going to use it, use it for all controversial decisions. (within reason)

Personally, i like the human element to the game, i'm against the use of video technology, but it'll be implemented eventually, so it doesn't matter what i think.

i don't think that's strictly true, i think there's a grey area when it comes to diving, for instance, if you leave a trailing leg, for no other reason than to make contact with a keeper, and the keeper touches it, is it a dive?

decisions arent deemed controversial until the media put their spin on it. so what sort of training should a ref get, not to make controversial decisions, that he hasnt already got?

the ref cant get training to make these decisions

in eduardos case the ref had to give a penalty

from his position theres no way he could have seen the dive

if a player leaves a leg trailing and there is contact i think it should be a penalty

I'd have it in goal mouth stright away with the consistency of bird's eye, the amount of dubious decisions shows how stubborn Blatter et al are with it, surely it would improve the games so get it sorted.

I'm undecided on overall video decision making, I'm all for it in order to prevent cheating and to referee if it doesn't slow up proceedings too much, a balance must be found.

i was thinking that but when you take into account the amount of time players spend complaining eg. boruc it won't slow things down too much

and it will create a a bit of suspense

when your watching rugby it doesn't really affect the game that much

Sometimes BirdsEye arent too consistent. Their peas are usually quite good but their fish fingers often are terrible

I think the EagleEye or HawkEye systems would be good for goal line decisions though
