    Subject: Transfers Of The Season

In my opinion the best bit of business this season has to be either the transfer of Roque Santa Cruz to Blackburn, or the movement of Jermain Defoe to Pompey.

Santa Cruz has scored 14 goals i believe this season, well worth his £multi-million fee.  Coincidently Jermain defoe has so far racked up 6 goals for new team Pompey.  £16.5m Darren Bent, in his whole season with Spurs, has 7.

I'd have to plump for Yakubu at Everton or Torres at Liverpool. They are both hugely important to their sides, anyone can see that neither team looks as dangerous without them. If I had to choose between the two, I'd say Torres because he's got everything you want in a striker and is hugely enjoyable to watch. Woodgate might also prove to be an inspired signing for Spurs. He's a defender with real class and once King is fully fit, they'll form an awesome partnership in defence.

Woodgate, if he stays fit. Hutton looks good

    Overall, probably Torres. Class

Torres to Liverpool, Anderson and Nani to Man U, Yakubu to Everton, Petrov to Man City Worst Transfers: Bent to Spurs, Barton and Viduka to Newcastle.

Got to be torres. it takes a serously good player to get 20 goals in team like liverpool with only two

    decent attacking players

Torres has probably been the most successful and has had a blinding season in a fairly average side, but then again for £20+ million you'd expect him to deliver straight away I guess.

In terms of value for money Santa Cruz for Blackburn was a snip at £3mil (i think) and has adapted to this leage straight away.   Sagna at Arsenal for £6mil was also a bargain in today's market.

It's funny how Blackburn signed two class forwards in 2 seasons for a cheap fee and they both scored goals at ease in their first seasons in England. Lat year it was Benni McCarthy and this year it's Santa Cruz. Let's see how good he is next year. The Best transfer's this year were Anderson, Nani, Torres and Petrov.

Anderson has not gone close to proving his massive fee yet. Not even a solitary goal to speak of this season, a shocking return for an attacking midfielder.

for me it has to be torres.he has stood out along with steven gerard as liverpools stand out player.if he can produce 30+goals then his transfer will look like a steal.he has adapted so quickly and definitely looks a better player since leaving atletico as last season he produced just 15 goals in 40 games in all competitions.also probably ronaldos only genuine challenger to pfa player of the year as adebayor is dried up.

Surprised so many people have put Anderson and Nani down as signings of the season.  Anderson has played pretty well but needs to add goals to his game, and Nani has been a fairly lightweight showpony so far.  Both decent players, and both have done okay, but neither have justified their large transfer fees yet.

I'm not saying they won't come good in time, (Nani is like Ronaldo in his first season - tricks with minimal end product, and he turned out okay!), but at the moment it's too early to make a real judgement on them.

I'm a Liverpool supporter, and Torres and Gerrard have carried our otherwise weak team. He has been a superb signing for us.

I stand by putting Anderson down because you have to look at all the facts. He moved to another country, has to learn a totally new language, adjust to the high demands of the Premier league and adjust to a new position in central midfield. He has to compete with the likes of  Carrick, Scholes etc for a midfield starting position and don't forget he dominated the midfield against Gerrard at Anfield and Fabregas at The Emirates keeping them both quiet and that takes some doing. I'm not saying he's the best signing because Torres at this moment in time is, but what I am saying is that he's only 19 or 20, and if he can add goals to his game then he will be the complete midfielder and United will have the long term successor to Paul Scholes thus proving his transfer fee was money well spent.

I'd have to go with Torres, but for that sort of money you would expect a half decent season.Value for money wise maybe Santa Cruz or Defoe to Portsmouth.

    Red Devil:
    Fabregas at The Emirates keeping

    Can't agree with this,

Did'nt Fabergas score in that Game?

Compared to some of the other Transfers mentioned and the impact they have had,

i think by top class standards Nani and Anderson have only just started to show what they can do.

Got to be Torres he's been Liverpools saving grace, Also Defoe - When will he get the England call up he deserves?!?

Santa Cruz is definatly the winner in terms of value for money. Torres has also delivered as has Petrov for City. I know he's been in and out of the team but don't think we have seen anything like the best of Hargreaves at Utd which is dissapointing baring in mind the fee.
