We have just witnessed an almost identical case to the Wall Street Crash and as one of the Democrats main policies is that the Government should intervene with Businesses. If the Republicans were elected they wouldn't be able to handle the crisis. History agrees with me as well:
In 1929 the Wall street crash happend and the President at the time, Herbet Hoover who was a Republican failed to make enough drastic changes to help Americans who were at poverty level. Thousands were homeless, there was a limited amount of jobs and even the birth rate had fell. So by 1932 when the election took place many had lost faith in him and Hoover won by a landslide. After he launched the four day bank holiday were all banks were checked to see if they were running propally as well as taking USA of the gold standard, this made the peoples confidence grow. After his "Hundred Days" USA's economy gained strength and within a few years USA had recovered tremondasly well and that wasn't just because they had a great President in Roosevelt it is alos because the Democrats believe the Government should try harder to help look after the Americans whereas the democrats think the Americans can stand on their own two feet and at this time they can't. Obama is a clever guy and there's doubt in my mind he will launch a plan to quickly stabilise the economy. I'm afraid that with McCain he will choose just to close his eyes and hope the problem wont be there when he opens them. So I feel it should be Obama
