Subject: BIG DEBATE: Should clubs ground-share?

In the November issue of FourFourTwo magazine - in shops Wednesday - we debate whether, in these here times of financial uncertainty, clubs should ground-share.

We here from Chris Brady, Professor of Management Studies in Bournemouth - who believes it is the way forward and the most efficient method if clubs want to capitalise on the oodles of cash flying around English football - and Liverpool Echo football correspondent Tony Barrett, who disagrees, arguing that individuality and identity are two of the fundamental elements that make English football what it is.

But what do you think, dear Forumers?

Should Everton and Liverpool share the Reds' proposed new stadium in Stanley Park to help maximise financial gain. Likewise Chelsea and Spurs, who are both seeking future moves away from their respective homes?

Would Bristol Rovers fans, enduring delays in their bid to redevelop the Memorial Stadium, go and watch the Pirates play at Ashton Gate - home of city rivals Bristol City - every other week?

Would you rather wait for hell to freeze over before jumping into the same bed as your bitterest rivals?

We want to hear from you...

yip!- i would die first before sharing a stadium with Athletico or Getafe. This was a silly question, if you cannot cut the mustard financially then you shouldnt be there in the first place. I think its embarrasing that Milan has to share the San Siro with Inter, and besides the pitch looks terrible by the end of the season because it doesn't get a rest! It will be played on every week as the teams that share it swop between home and away games. To combat this you would have to employ multiple retractable pitches which is just not economically viable. .... Though it would be funny to see Scouser's fighting for tickets to get into the same game on derby day!

no they shudnt b allowed to ground share cos then the ground loses its uniqueness to a certain club imagine if my club newcastle had to start sharing with the tramps from wearside our stadium is like space age compared to there petty little garden shed

theres nor eason for it every ground is a clubs home and its a fans mecca ground sharing is not rite and on derby days its not like uretravlling to anotehr rival city to watch ure team ure goin to wot i wud know as home

I can see that in this day and age, ground shares are a financial and practical solution to all the inner city clubs that want to expand.

Looking at the Richo which is just under 2 miles from myself, its a great structure and superbly placed for parking and access but Coventry fail to utilise its capacity and half fill it most games, my point is that arena's like this would make great venues for a number of clubs and still have thier own identity. The fans would love a new stadia and great facilitys and could be the way forward for a number of clubs, mind you , saying allt that spurs and arsenal sharing a ground? hhmmmmmm

let me go away and rethink this post.......

It would be like playing away every game, the results would be affected

I remember watching Wimbledon a few times at Crystal Palace I think it was. Didnt really matter to me as I wasnt a fan but the feeling was wrong and wierd

Heskey OUT! Downing, Barry, Upson, Johnson too! Stop picking mediocre players for the world stage!

I personally believe that ground-sharing is complete nonsense. I think this because all this intended ground-sharing for the future just won`t work! Think about it, Liverpool sharing a ground with Everton? The two clubs HATE each other and I am quite possitive the fans would not think about the finacial part to it! The fans don`t care about saving money, they just want a nice, little ground which they and only they can call home. Also, looking back at grounds that have been shared the idea didn`t really help. Take the San Siro for example, no fans in italy actually supported the idea. They even involved violence!

And that is why no good at all will ever come out of this.

    No More!

Hull City, a matter of life or death!

Do Pool and Everton hate each other?

So if Wembley was shared by two clubs they would feel like they were playing away?  dont think so
