There's a gleaming new issue of FourFourTwo available on Wednesday, and at its heart is a list of the 100 best players in the world. Who would your top five be?

I'm so sure we've had this list done not a year ago.  Actually yes we did!  In October 07.  Anyway:

4. Francesc Fabregas

3. Ricardo Kaka

2. Cristiano Ronaldo

1. Lionel Messi

Tis indeed the second such list. I'll be going into tantalising detail about last year's list in a blog tomorrow (I've just got the internet to edit first).

I'm disappointed to see that you've followed the magazine in omitting me from your list - a heinous oversight, sir.

And what, no Ian Ashbee? ;-D

If Stevie G is not in the top 10, then your list is rubbish! 20+ goals, 12+ assists, numerous man of the match awards...(sigh) Please tell me if he is in, as we are receiving delayed issues in South Africa, i'll have to wait another month! And Carra deserves a top 50 slot atleast! Last time you had the Liverpool rock in at 90 something! Disgraceful! He is legend and his current match rating is a 8. something! Mascherano also deserves a major boost up the chart! And Cal you forgot Torres on your list, I reckon he will come in ahead of RVN. Regarding the Sunderland players, Cisse could crack it mainly because of his time in Marseille, but he is impressing at Sunderland, if only he had done the same for Liverpool :( My top 5: 1. Gerrard 2. Carra 3.Torres 4. Mascherano 5. Reina. Realistically - Ronaldo, Torres, Messi, Gerrard, Kaka.

Sorry Red, but RVN's goal record, in my opinion, is superior to Torres':

 

RVN: 384 apps / 232 goals  (0.6 goals/game)

F.T. : 253 apps / 118 goals  (0.46 goals/game)
