rachelcl:
I'd like to borrow footblog's time machine. The ad in his link (the "no soy galactico, soy de Mostoles" ad from Reebok's "I am what I am" campaign) is about five years old. Casillas appeared in a couple of Pepsi ads with the galacticos (and D-Beck who was then with United) before the ad footblog's got his knickers in a twist about. IC has also advertised Continental tyres, Groupama (who insure his hands), some yogurt or other and summat called Cuatro for which he dresses up as an angel with massive wings.
I heard a very heartwarming story yesterday about him and some bairns from Sierra Leone whom he'd met on a Real trip there. Perez should use him to bring good publicity to the club but I know Perez won't do this. And Casillas has stripped off for Spanish mags loads of times (not to mention for TV adverts and the movie Goal 2) - including in the first galactico era.
If you'd bothered to read the link from Off The Post properly, it says that the advert was launched A FEW WEEKS AGO. Crapsillas is jealous of the galacticos' fame and popularity.
And why would anybody from Sierra Leone have heard of goalkeeper Crapsillas. After all, no Real fans in Britain have. Casillas does not appear in Goal 2 (as mentioned in the Nov 2005 issue of FourFourTwo) and is banned from appearing in ads. Real earn nothing from his image rights because they know they would get nothing.
And please do not insult San Ron, San Kaka, San Benzo and San Florentino by claiming that anyone would be sick enough to dress "Little Sam" as an angel.
