The FFT 100: Top Ten Forwards

FourFourTwo names the 10 forwards we believe are currently the best in the world (in ALPHABETICAL order). FFT's 100 Best Players in the World is in the January edition of FourFourTwo magazine, out December 7.

Sergio Aguero – Manchester City & Argentina

10. Sergio Aguero – Manchester City & Argentina

You'd think Manchester City would struggle without their talismanic 5ft 8in Argentinian goalscorer, but they've hardly missed Carlos Tevez at all. That's due in no small part to Tevez's similarly-sized compatriot Aguero, who arrived from Atletico Madrid in summer while Tevez was vowing never to return "even on vacation". Four years the younger, Aguero has an extra yard of pace – and, crucially, wants to play for the team. He has added a new dimension and fresh impetus to Roberto Mancini’s side.

Edinson Cavani – Napoli & Uruguay

9. Edinson Cavani – Napoli & Uruguay

In the land of the 5ft8-ers and false 9s, isn’t it great to see an archetypal front-man in the world-class bracket? Great in the air, with the ability to finish with both feet – he’s got it all, and has been a key component in Napoli’s rise over the last two years. If he ever makes it to these shores, be prepared for some shocking puns: he's named (slightly incorrectly) after Thomas Edison.
