Leonardo: Milan ready for Real

Reuters - Tuesday 20 October 2009, 18:02

MADRID - AC Milan's 2-1 comeback win over AS Roma in Seria A on Sunday has given the team a boost and will serve as a springboard for success against Real Madrid, coach Leonardo said on Tuesday.

Milan suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat by FC Zurich in Champions League Group C last month but the victory over Roma and the improved performance of Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho was a bonus ahead of the match at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

"This game is coming at a positive time for us," Leonardo said at a news conference in the Spanish capital.

"I really believe in a positive result (against Real)," he added. "In these encounters we always find something extra."

Real top the group with two wins out of two and Zurich and Milan both have three points in second and third respectively.
