Nesta desperate to avoid Chelsea

Reuters - Thursday 10 December 2009, 15:53

MILAN - AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta is desperate to avoid a meeting with former coach Carlo Ancelotti and Chelsea in the Champions League last 16, but would welcome a meeting with Manchester United.

The draw for February and March's first knockout round will be made next Friday when Milan could also be paired with holders Barcelona or 2008 winners Manchester United among others.

"Barcelona and Chelsea are the strongest, I really wouldn't like to meet them," Nesta, who has been superb this term having recovered from a year-long back problem, told reporters on Thursday.

"We'll play all the others, even if Manchester United are still very good."
