Vidic to miss Milan clash

Reuters - Monday 15 February 2010, 12:26

Manchester United centre-back Vidic will miss Tuesday's Champions League last-16 first leg at AC Milan, the Premier League club said on Monday.

United travelled to Milan on Monday without Vidic, who is still struggling with a nerve problem in his leg that has kept him out of action all year, the club said on their website.

Fellow centre-back Rio Ferdinand should be fit to play, alongside either Jonny Evans or Wes Brown.

Ryan Giggs is also absent, after breaking his arm last week, as is Anderson, who has been out of form and favour in recent weeks.

United should be fresh for the fixture having had the weekend off after being knocked out of the FA Cup earlier in the competition.
