Banning WAGS will cure Bale curse

442 Staff - Tuesday 27 January 2009, 12:52

A top psychologist has advised Tottenham Hotspur to keep women away from White Hart Lane if they want to start winning matches.

Craig Hamilton Parker believes the reason why Gareth Bale has featured in 21 Premier League games for Spurs and never finished on the winning side is because: “An ancient proverb says ‘women cast an evil eye’ and this looks like its having an impact."

Bale has lost 13 and drawn the other eight of his league appearances in a Spurs shirt after being signed for £5m from Southampton in 2007.

"The best chance he has of turning things around would be if Spurs ban WAGS from home matches," said Parker. "I am sure Gareth would be okay then."

Bale is set to start again on Tuesday night as Tottenham take on Stoke in a crucial clash down at the bottom of the Premier League.

The Welsh international was last on a winning team in a league fixture back on May 6 2007 when Southampton beat Southend 4-1 in the Championship.
