Wenger weighing up Chamakh move

The Gunners are expected to be in need of a new recruit up-front, as speculation intensifies that towering Togolese target-man Emmanuel Adebayor is Manchester City-bound for a fee in the region of £20 million.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and Fulham have all been tipped to land the forward - who has scored 15 goals for his country - in the past, with Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger previously suggesting that the Emirates Stadium outfit would only make a move for the player should Adebayor depart North London.

And with City boss Mark Hughes confirming he is in talks to land the former Monaco front-man, Wenger may now make his move for the Ligue 1 hot-shot.

Speaking to Moroccan website mountakhab.net this week, the 25-year-old revealed he has received offers for his services this summer, but would think carefully before deciding where his future lies.

"I want to make the right choice, I don't want to leave just to leave," he said.

"That's why I'm taking my time. I'm not worried. I have concrete offers and it's up to me to make the right choice. It shouldn't take too long because the club will have to replace me if I leave.

"I always said that I wanted to discover the Premier League."
