United eye Jovetic swoop

The 19-year-old forward has netted six league goals in 30 appearances for la Viola since arriving from Partizan in 2008, and has already made 11 outings for Montenegro, scoring six times.

The teenage talent was only drafted into the Fiorentina starting line-up against the five-time European Cup winners at the Stadio Artemio Franchi due to Alberto Gilardino being suspended.

And following the starlet's instant rise to stardom, he has tipped to join a major European outfit, with Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believed to be keen on securing the services of the 'Montenegrin Messi' in the near future.

According to Firenzeviola.it, Ferguson has already earmarked the youngster as a potential new recruit at a later date.

However, Fiorentina are believed to be hurriedly planning a lucrative new deal for their prize asset, which will include a €25 million buy-out clause.

Earlier this week, Jovetic's agent Fali Ramadani moved to quash talk of him leaving Florence in the near future, following reports suggesting United, Chelsea, Juventus and Bayern Munich were weighing up moves for the forward.

"We have never spoken to any club, and we have no intention of doing so because Jovetic has to focus only on Fiorentina," he told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"There is interest in him, but it remains just that. We are not thinking about a transfer at all. Jovetic is happy in Florence, and he is doing very well."
