In a poll compiled by price-comparison website confused.com, the X-Factor judge’s decision to forgive her cheating husband is the fourth most confusing thing confounding the UK today.
Following the former Arsenal star’s one-night stand with a hairdresser, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl’s loyalty to the England international beat football’s offside rule and buying a house in a list of the top 50 confusing things in life.
In a poll of 4,979 people between the ages of 16 and 65 living in the UK, only foreign call centres, algebra and what women see in Russell Brand perplexes us Brits more than Cheryl sticking by love-rat Ashley.
So confusing is her decision in fact, that the population finds it easier to get their heads around Stephen Hawking’s theories, the London Underground and filling in insurance forms, than they do comprehending how Ashley got away with it.
