Rooney: Barcelona a good alternative

442 Staff - Friday 09 October 2009, 15:30

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that European champions Barcelona are his first choice after the Red Devils... on FIFA 10.

The England international is a regular player of the long-running EA Sports series, which he has been promoting following the release of its latest incarnation.

And the 23-year-old, who tasted defeat at the hands of Pep Guardiola's side in last year's Champions League final, has admitted that he often turns to the Catalan giants when his opponent on the computer game chooses United ahead of him.

“I mainly play as United," he said in Sport.

“Only when I play online, a lot of the time the other person will also want to play as United and they’re really stubborn and won’t change.

“I don’t want to play United v United so I’ll always change, and Barcelona’s always a good alternative.”
