Dos Santos keen to earn his spurs

Giovani dos Santos is desperate to reignite his Tottenham Hotspur career once he overcomes an ankle injury.
The former Barcelona starlet has struggled to establish himself at White Hart Lane since his move from the Camp Nou in 2008.
But the Mexican is certain he can kick-start his career in North London under the tutelage of Spurs’ boss Harry Redknapp, who he says is a ‘great manager.’
Despite failing to live up to the hype which surrounded the 20-year-old’s transfer from the Catalan giants, Dos Santos is aiming to earn his spurs in the Premier League.
The diminutive forward, who was sent on loan to Ipswich Town in March 2009, appeared to be in good form for both club and country before picking up a knock in the Carling Cup.
And Dos Santos, who will take no further part in Mexico’s World Cup qualifying campaign, is determined to force his way into Tottenham’s first team when fully fit.
“I’ve had a scan and am hoping I can get back in a couple of weeks,” he said.
“It is very frustrating that I got a start but had to come off after just 15 minutes. I really want to show what I am capable of doing.
“I’m not saying I should be picked ahead of [Jermain] Defoe, [Peter] Crouch or [Robbie] Keane. But I’ve been in good form, doing well in training and waiting to take any opportunity.
“Harry Redknapp is a great manager and I’m hoping he will give me some more minutes on the pitch when I’m fit. This season I’m stronger mentally and physically.”
