Barca and Bayern target Turan

442 Staff - Monday 09 November 2009, 23:05

Barcelona and Bayern Munich have entered the race for Galatasaray midfielder - and reported Arsenal and Liverpool target - Arda Turan, according to the player's agent.

The 22-year-old winger has made 88 appearances for the Istanbul giants - scoring 24 times - since breaking onto the first-team scene in 2004.

And with the youngster having already represented the senior Turkey side on 34 occasions, interest in his services has inevitably intensified, with Arsene Wenger and Rafael Benitez believed to be admirers of the starlet.

A move to England failed to come to fruition during the close-season, with Galatasaray unwilling to part company with the player.

But Turan's representitive, Ahmet Bulut, later revealed that the player is keen on working under Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, and would be willing to sign on the dotted line at the end of the season.

However, Bulut has since admitted that European champions Barcelona and German giants Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the highly-rated midfielder.

"Many clubs are watching Arda," he told Radyospor.

"
Of course, teams like Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also awaiting developments. He is 22 years old and draws much attention."
