Agent: No interest in Misimovic

442 Staff - Monday 16 November 2009, 16:58

Arsenal have not made an approach for VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Zvjezdan Misimovic, according to the player's agent.

The 27-year-old has made 45 league appearances for the Bundesliga side since arriving from Nuremburg last summer, and was influential in the club's title triumph last season.

As a result, the Bosnian international - dubbed the 'new Fabregas' - is being lined up as a replacement for the Spaniard, continually being linked with a move to Barcelona, according to the News of the World.

However, the player's representative, Florian Goll, has revealed that Arsene Wenger has yet to express his interest in Misimovic's services, and that he expects the midfielder - contracted to Wolfsburg until summer 2013 - to remain in Germany for the foreseeable future.

"Not Arsenal or any Premier League club has talked to me or my partner, I can't say anything about this, I don't know if there is any truth in the rumours linking with Arsenal. All I can say is nobody has called, or contacted us," he told Sport.co.uk.

"Until Arsenal or another club contact me I have nothing to say. He is a Wolfsburg player, and we think for now he will stay that way."
