Wilshere set for loan spell

Reuters - Tuesday 26 January 2010, 16:31

LONDON - Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri and striker Nicklas Bendtner have returned to training following their recovery from injury, the Premier League club said.

Second-placed Arsenal have been without Frenchman Nasri for three weeks due to a hamstring problem, while Dane Bendtner has been out of action since injuring his thigh against Tottenham Hotspur on October 31.

"The list of injuries is going down a bit," manager Arsene Wenger told the club website, before adding that defender Bacary Sagna is also fit after a shoulder problem.

"We have Samir Nasri and Nicklas Bendtner back in full training, so that is quite good news for us," the Frenchman said ahead of Wednesday's league trip to Aston Villa.

Striker Robin van Persie, midfielder Fran Merida and defenders Kieran Gibbs and Johan Djourou all remain out.

Wenger also confirmed that the north London club are to let England under-21 midfielder Jack Wilshere go out on a short-term loan within the next 48 hours.

"We have interest from Premier League teams," Wenger said. "It will be decided today or tomorrow. Burnley is an opportunity.

"At the end of the day, Wilshere will have his word to say, because he needs to decide where he likes to go."
