Ashley Cole banned from driving

LONDON - Chelsea and England footballer Ashley Cole was banned from driving for four months on Friday after being clocked at more than 100 miles an hour in a 50 mph zone in what he said was an attempt to escape pursuing photographers.

Police caught the 29-year-old defender driving his black Lamborghini Gallardo at 104 mph in November 2008, the Press Association reported.
