Ramsey: Arsenal wanted me more than United

442 Staff - Thursday 11 February 2010, 16:44

Arsenal starlet Aaron Ramsey has revealed that he chose to sign for the Gunners instead of Manchester United as Arsene Wenger's side made him feel more wanted.

The 19-year-old Welsh midfielder put pen-to-paper with the Emirates Stadium outfit in 2008 and has steadily enhanced his reputation in North London - making 25 league appearances for the Gunners, scoring three times.

And the former Cardiff City prodigy - who has won 11 caps for his country - confessed that he spoke to both Wenger and Red Devils' supremo Sir Alex Ferguson about a move to either Arsenal or United, but came away far more impressed with the Frenchman

"I was going to take people’s advice but it’s up to me what I do and no one else was going to make that decision for me and I chose Arsenal," he said in the Telegraph.

"I listened to what the two managers had to say to me and I was just more impressed by how much they [Arsenal] knew about me, what they wanted me to do to improve and the path they had for me.

"I just felt more wanted here than Manchester United."
