Rooney header = money back

442 Staff - Friday 19 March 2010, 10:22

Wayne Rooney is in the form of his life and is scoring headers like never before - but one bookmaker is offering punters their money back if he nods home against Liverpool.

If Rooney scores a header in this Sunday's clash, FourFourTwo's betting partner Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last scorer, correct score and scorecast bets on the match.

The former Evertonian turned Old Trafford legend is sure to be fired up for the game, and with the Anfield side in indifferent form – not to mention having played last night while Rooney's side enjoyed a midweek break – Paddy Power have the champions odds-on to win, with Liverpool a distant 9/2.

7/10      Man Utd Win
12/5      Draw
9/2        Liverpool Win

A match of fascinating clashes and consequences could be decided by the team's talismanic goalscorers - the on-fire Rooney and Liverpool's returning Fernando Torres. Unsurprisingly, Rooney is the 3/1 favourite to score the first goal, with Torres the next most likely at 11/2 chance. Interestingly, Rooney is 5/1 to score a header.

First Scorer Betting
3/1        Rooney
11/2      Torres
6/1        Berbatov
8/1        Nani
9/1        Gerrard

Rooney v Torres Betting
4/1        Rooney and Torres both score
13/8      Rooney to score more than Torres
9/2        Torres to score more than Rooney

Finally, Paddy Power himself wrote a blog yesterday marvelling at the adventures of Steven Gerrard and there is a variety of betting options on the Liverpool captain. He's a massive 50/1 to get sent off but only 11/1 to score from outside the area.
