Dzeko keen to complete Milan deal

442 Staff - Wednesday 24 June 2009, 13:42

In-demand Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has again stated his desire to sign for Serie A giants AC Milan this summer.

The Bosnian front-man's 26 league goals in 2008/09 - alongside strike-partner Grafite's 28 - helped fire the Wolves to their first ever German league crown under Felix Magath.

And his lethal form alerted a string of English big-hitters including Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal, while Milan were reported to have signed a pre-agreement with the striker, giving the Italians first option on the in-form front-man.

Rossoneri chief Adriano Galliani recently revealed that the San Siro side remained hopeful of sealing a deal for one of Europe's hottest properties, telling Sky Sports:

"He is a player that interests us very much. I am talking with Wolfsburg and I think there is a possibility."

And the Italian's words have been backed up by the player himself, who is set to meet with the German champions' new manager, Armin Veh, to discuss his future.

"My greatest dream is to play for AC Milan, for me, they are the best team in the world," he told Telelombardia.

"I cannot comment more on the situation, because on Saturday I will probably meet with Veh and the Wolfsburg directors and we'll see what happens.

"It's in their hands; I want to be at Milan's pre-season training camp on July 6."
