Inter enter race to recruit Inler

Inter Milan have joined the race to sign Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler next summer, according to reports in Italy.
The 25-year-old enforcer has made more than 50
appearances for the Serie A side since arriving from FC Zurich in
summer 2007, helping the Zebrette reach the UEFA Cup
quarter-finals last season.
Inler was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal during the
close-season, and recently hinted that - despite being contracted to Udinese until 2014 - may leave the club next summer, saying:
“I have a contract with the club until 2014. The directors would like to extend that. I’ll stay another year and then we’ll see."
According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Arsene Wenger could
now face stiff competition for the battler's signature from Italian
champions Inter, with San Siro supremo Jose Mourinho believed to be an
admirer of the Swiss.
However, Udinese director Sergio Gasparin has insisted that the Bianconeri remain confident that they can keep hold of their prize asset for the foreseeable future.
"We have much confidence in the player and it would be pleasing if
he stays here," he said.
"The contract is long, so we don't have a problem."
