Glasgow Rangers manager Walter Smith and his assistants Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall have agreed to work without a contract until the Scottish Premier League club finds a new owner.

"As the club currently sits up for sale and in between owners, Walter, Ally and Kenny have taken the decision that until such time as a new owner is found, they will work without contracts," chief executive Martin Bain told the club website.

"This is to protect the club from having a contracted management team that a new owner may not want." The three men's contracts expire next month.
