Germany to name squad in May

BERLIN - Germany will announce their
preliminary squad for this year's World Cup in South Africa in
early May, team manager Oliver Bierhoff said on Thursday.
"This will be announced in the week before the final
(Bundesliga) league matchday which is on May 8," Bierhoff told
reporters.
Germany, drawn in Group D with Ghana, Australia and Serbia,
have planned two pre-tournament training camps, initially in
Italy on May 14-21 and then Switzerland between May 21 and June
2 before leaving for South Africa on June 6.
