BUENOS AIRES - Boca Juniors scored twice in the last three minutes to win 4-2 at Newell's Old Boys on Thursday and close the gap on Argentine championship leaders San Lorenzo.
Nicolas Gaitan poked the ball past Sebastian Peratta in the 88th minute and Lucas Viatri wrong-footed the goalkeeper two minutes later for his second goal of the game after Newell's had twice come from behind.
Ricardo Noir and Viatri had earlier put Boca ahead but Newell's replied with a penalty by former Boca defender Rolando Schiavi and an opportunist goal from Juan Insaurralde, who pounced on a poor clearance by Gabriel Paletta.
Boca jumped to second in the Apertura championship with 14 points from seven games, two points behind San Lorenzo.
