Brazilian striker Ronaldo has said
he is recovering well from a career-threatening knee injury and
should return to training next week.
The clubless 32-year-old has been undergoing a
rehabilitation programme at Brazilian team Flamengo since
August as he battles for fitness after rupturing a tendon in
his left knee during a Serie A game for AC Milan against
Livorno in February.
"The muscles are still weak and at the moment I don't have
the power to do all I want," Ronaldo told La Gazzetta dello
Sport.
"But the knee isn't giving me any pain and this is the most
important thing.
"It's highly probable that I'll return to training with
Flamengo on Monday."
The three-times World Player of the Year reiterated that
Manchester City and Paris St Germain were possible future
destinations for him.
"Paris is a city I love and PSG have a good project to win
the title," he said.
"My great friend Robinho plays at City. We'll see, in
recent days we have spoken about it but for the moment I'm just
thinking about playing again. The rest will come after."
Last month, Ronaldo told the French sports daily L'Equipe
he had been involved in talks with Manchester City.
