Atletico dismiss Forlan City switch rumours

The former Manchester United front-man became famous for his profligacy in front of goal during his two-and-a-half-year stint at Old Trafford, scoring just 10 league goals in 63 appearances.

But he has since re-established himself as one of Europe's most lethal marksmen in Europe, netting more than 50 La Liga goals for Villarreal, before switching to Atletico Madrid, where he has bagged 34 in 57 league outings for the Spanish capital outfit.

And that potency has sparked rumours linking the 29-year-old with a return to England, with Manchester City, Tottenham and Sunderland all believed to be keen on securing his services.

However, Atletico's president has poured cold water on the rumours, claiming the Uruguayan hot-shot is not keen on a switch to Eastlands.
