Valencia dealt double injury setback

Reuters - Thursday 23 April 2009, 14:42

MADRID - Valencia midfielders David Albelda and Joaquin will miss the visit of leaders Barcelona after being ruled out with injuries on Thursday, the Primera Liga club said.

Albelda twisted ligaments in his left ankle during training and is expected to be out for two to three weeks. Winger Joaquin damaged his right ankle against Real Betis on Wednesday and will be sidelined for up to two weeks.

Valencia are fourth, in the last Champions League qualification slot, and after hosting Barca on Saturday still have to face Real Madrid, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.
