Fenerbahce sack Luis Aragones

MADRID - Fenerbahce have sacked coach Luis Aragones after the Spaniard led the Turkish club to fourth place in the league, Spanish daily El Mundo reported on Monday.

Aragones, 70, has coached Primera Liga clubs including Atletico Madrid and Barcelona and joined Fenerbahce last season after leading the Spanish national side to victory at Euro 2008.

Fenerbahce's Istanbul rivals Besiktas clinched the Turkish league title for the 11th time on Saturday with a 2-1 win at Denizlispor.
