Villarreal sign Marcano from Racing

MADRID - Villarreal have agreed to sign defender Ivan Marcano from Primera Liga rivals Racing Santander.

The deal will be completed when the 22-year-old passes a medical, the club said on their website on Thursday.

Marcano, who is set to sign a six-year contract, is a member of Spain's under-21 squad and can play in central defence or at left back.
