Stuttgart set to seal Huntelaar deal

442 Staff - Monday 20 July 2009, 13:47

Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has agreed to join Stuttgart, according to reports in Germany.

The front-man only joined the Spanish giants from Ajax in January, netting eight league goals in 20 appearances.

However, the Dutchman's future at the Bernabeu - along with several of his fellow countrymen - has been cast into doubt following the return of former president Florentino Perez, who has already splashed more than €200 million on stellar signings including Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Huntelaar has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, with the Gunners believed to be eyeing either Huntelaar or Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh as a replacement for new Manchester City signing Emmanuel Adebayor.

And although no official statement has yet been made by other club, the player's representitive, Arnold Oosterver, believes a decision over the striker's future will be made on Monday.

"There is no decision made," he told the Deutsche Presseagentur.

"The only thing for sure at this point is that it will be this Monday when he says yes or no to those offers that are on the table."
