Reyes out of hospital with neck strain

Reuters - Monday 14 December 2009, 13:20

MADRID - Former Arsenal and Real Madrid winger Jose Antonio Reyes was released from hospital on Monday with a neck strain and should be able to return to action for Atletico Madrid later in the week, the La Liga club's website said.

Reyes had a scan and spent the night under observation after tumbling awkwardly during Sunday's 2-1 league defeat at home to Villarreal.

He was carried off the pitch wearing a neck brace.

The 26-year-old set up Simao Sabrosa for Atletico's goal, and has been one of the few positives for the team this season. They are struggling one point above the relegation places in 14th.
