Atletico sign Argentina forward Salvio

Reuters - Friday 22 January 2010, 15:42

MADRID - Atletico Madrid have signed Argentina forward Eduardo Salvio from Lanus on a five-and-a-half-year contract, the La Liga club said on Friday.

The 19-year-old passed a medical and was presented at the Calderon, where he joins up with international team mate Sergio Aguero.

Earlier this month, Lanus said they had accepted an offer from Atletico of 8 million euros for the player.

Salvio debuted in the Argentine top-flight in 2008 and played 41 matches with Lanus, scoring 11 goals, according to their website.
