Is time running out to see Harry Kane in a Tottenham shirt? Perhaps – the Lilywhites' all-time record scorer is a wanted man by Bayern Munich, after all. And as far as preseason goes, there isn't a tournament much more prestigious than the Joan Gamper.
Barcelona are, of course, the opposition, as we get to see how Ange Postecoglou adapts his high-intensity style to play against the possession-based Xavi Hernandez. Expect inverted full-backs a-plenty and two sides throwing caution to the wind in attack if this summer has been anything to go by.
Kick-off is at 8pm BST. Ahead of the new season, make you know how to watch the Premier League wherever you are.
Team news
The main injury concern for Tottenham remains midfield linchpin Rodrigo Bentancur. The Uruguayan will be missing until next month as he recovers from a knee injury that curtailed his campaign last season.
Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon are the other two major casualties of Postecoglou's squad, with both expected to return to fitness in October.
Form
Tottenham come into this one buoyed by five-goal thrashings over Lion City Sailors and Shakhtar Donetsk. This is the last test before Brentford play host on Sunday in the Premier League opener.
Barcelona have had a good preseason, trouncing arch-rivals Real Madrid, Vissel Kobe and AC Milan. The only blemish was a 5-3 loss to Arsenal. Like Tottenham, their season kicks off away from home on Sunday, as they travel to Getafe.
Stadium
Barcelona vs Tottenham will be played at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Spain.
Kick-off and channel
Barcelona vs Tottenham kick-off is at 8pm BST on Wednesday 8 August in the UK. The game is not being shown live on UK television, only being broadcast on SpursPlay.
In the US, kick-off time is 3pm ET / 12pm PT. The match will not be shown on US television.
VPN guide
Use a VPN to watch Premier League football from outside your country
If you’re out of the country for a Premier League fixture, then you won't be able to watch on your domestic streaming service as usual. The broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!) and blocks you from watching it. You can use a VPN to get around that, though, without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs, creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and will let you watch. And all the info going between is entirely encrypted, anonymous and safe – and that's a result.
There are plenty of good-value options out there. For the Premier League, FourFourTwo currently recommends:
ExpressVPN including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
FourFourTwo’s brainy office mates TechRadar love its super speedy connections, trustworthy security and the fact it works with Android, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, PS5 and loads more. You also get a money-back guarantee, 24/7 support and it's currently available for a knockdown price. Go get it!
