10 teams we can’t wait to use in FIFA 18
It’s time to start contemplating which teams you’ll be commanding to virtual glory, with EA Sports’ new release offering up some intriguing possibilities
We’ve drawn up a selection of teams we can’t wait to get our hands on in FIFA 18. Whether you’re looking for a dominant Seasons outfit or a plucky set of underdogs for use in Career Mode, you’ll definitely want to consider these picks over the next 12 months.
1. Everton (Premier League)
The loss of Romelu Lukaku proved a significant blow for the Toffees in the summer, but replacements Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson offer bags of talent in return. Everton are an excellent pick for fans of Career Mode due to their strength in depth – a mass of new, young talent including Jordan Pickford and Nikola Vlasic equips the Merseysiders with huge potential in future seasons.
Just make sure Big Rom doesn’t come back to haunt you.
2. PSG (Ligue 1 Conforama)
Fans of Seasons mode can expect to see plenty of PSG over the next year. The arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe make for an incredible attacking presence in FIFA 18, and there’s plenty more in the kitty if you’re hoping to sign additional stars in Career Mode. Gaining a top two spot should be a relatively straightforward challenge, though Champions League success will prove much harder to come by.
3. Karlsruher SC (3. Liga)

One of the brand new additions to FIFA 18 is that of the 3. Liga – the third tier of German football. After suffering relegation from the 2. Bundesliga in 2016/17, Karlsruher find themselves equipped with the strongest-rated side in their new surroundings.
Propelling them back to the Bundesliga for the first time since 2009 will prove tough, but serves as the perfect challenge for any budding player in FIFA 18.
4. LA Galaxy (MLS)
MLS receives more attention than ever in FIFA 18 – LA Galaxy’s StubHub Center stadium is replicated in superb detail, complete with a mass of authentic presentation elements. It even makes a key appearance in The Journey: Hunter Returns mode, with forward Gyasi Zardes lending his voice to Alex Hunter’s second outing.
As one of the top sides in MLS, the LA Galaxy make for a competitive side in both online and offline competition.
5. Milan (Calcio A)
After spending over €230m in the recent transfer window, Milan are a changed side for the 2017/18 season. New additions include Andre Silva, Hakan Calhanoglu and ex-Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci, and they’re all available from the off in FIFA 18.
Milan’s added quality makes them a recommended choice for Seasons players, while Career Mode enthusiasts should have no trouble competing with the likes of Juventus, Napoli and Inter for the Serie A title.
6. Amiens SC (Ligue 1 Conforama)
Amiens were promoted to the top flight of French football for the first time with the final kick of the 2016/17 Ligue 2 season. Their dramatic 2-1 victory over Reims launched a new era for the club, and FIFA 18 allows you to take the reins from here on out. This historic challenge will suit anyone hoping to compete with a team of passionate underdogs at the highest level. Plus, the best bit: Gael Kakuta!
7. Real Madrid (LaLiga Santander)
For obvious reasons, Real Madrid remain a top choice for any FIFA 18 player. This year Cristiano Ronaldo graces the cover of EA Sports’ title, benefiting from an improved player model and celebration (the latter incorporating his famous “Siii!” chant to boot).
Additionally, the Bernabeu benefits greatly from FIFA 18’s ‘Immersive Atmospheres’ feature, bringing the stadium to life like never before. Better get used to it – you’ll be seeing los Blancos very often in Seasons mode.
8. Forest Green (EFL League Two)
It was third time lucky for Forest Green last year, as they finally conquered the National League play-offs after two years of consecutive hurt. A hefty set of summer transfers soon followed, but regardless of their market exploits they remain one of the weakest English teams in FIFA 18. The club is a work in progress at League Two level, but offer a compelling challenge – can you defy the odds to earn promotion with the Green?
9. Monaco (Ligue 1 Conforama)
Despite the loss of some top stars in the summer, Monaco remain bursting with quality in FIFA 18. The Ligue 1 side’s array of young talent is particularly evident, with Keita Balde, Terence Kongolo and Belgian wonderkid Youri Tielemans all having joined in recent months. Monaco arguably boast the most potential in all of FIFA 18, and under your direction it won’t be long until they’re dominating the football world.
10. Adidas All-Star (Rest Of World)
Locked away in the EAS FC Catalogue of FIFA 18 lies the Adidas All-Star team. Luckily, it’s available for very few FCC Credits (accessible via the right analogue stick), and is made up of some of the world’s top players. Located via the Rest of World category in Kick Off mode, the side includes Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale and Paul Pogba to name just a few. You’ll have no trouble beating your friends in local competition with this lot.
