Barnsley v Cardiff City live stream, Wednesday 2 February, 7.45pm GMT

Cardiff City will be looking to move further clear of the Championship relegation zone when they face Barnsley on Wednesday.

The Bluebirds emerged victorious at the weekend, beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium. That was a huge win for Steve Morison's side, who had gone six games without a victory before seeing off Forest last time out. Cardiff are now six points clear of the drop zone, and although it is far too early to proclaim them safe, Morison's side will now fancy their chances of finishing above the dreaded dotted line.

Even so, Morison's future is far from certain. Neil Warnock has been linked with a return to the club in recent weeks (it is now 15 years since the Yorkshireman declared the Crystal Palace job would be his last in management), and the fact Morison is only under contract until the summer does not exactly suggest he will be at Cardiff for the long term.

Barnsley are in danger of becoming cut adrift at the bottom of the Championship. The Tykes have collected only 14 points from a possible 81 and are even below Derby County, who have had 21 points deducted. Barnsley were play-off semi-finalists last term but they will almost certainly be playing League One football next season. Realistically Barnsley are only playing for pride in the coming months.

Cardiff have no fresh injury concerns as they prepare to make the trip to Yorkshire. Morison could therefore stick with the same starting XI that beat Forest in front of the television cameras on Sunday.

Barnsley will have to make do without Clarke Odour, Callum Brittain, Carlton Morris, Cauley Woodrom and Aapo Halme as they seek what would only be their third win of what has been a miserable campaign.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm GMT on Wednesday 2 February, and UK viewers can watch live on Sky Sports Red Button. See below for international broadcast options.

Use a VPN to watch Premier League football from outside your country

If you’re out of the country for a round of Premier League fixtures, then annoyingly your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You'll be blocked from watching it, which is not ideal if you’ve paid up for a subscription and still want to catch the action without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.

But assistance is on hand. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. All the info going between is entirely encrypted – and that's a result.

There are plenty of good-value options out there, including:
