Belgium v Italy live stream, BBC, Friday 2 July, 8pm BST

Italy and Belgium will go head-to-head in the standout game in the quarter-finals of the European Championship.

The Azzurri were the team of the group stage, breezing past Turkey, Switzerland and Wales by an aggregate scoreline of 7-0. They were made to work harder in the round of 16, though, as a spirited Austria side pushed them all the way. Roberto Mancini's men spent much of the second half on the back foot, before goals from Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina gave Italy a 2-1 win after extra time.

Chiesa and Pessina were both introduced as substitutes, underlining the difference that strength in depth can make in an international competition. Mancini will again be prepared to turn to his bench if required against Belgium, while there have been calls for Manuel Locatelli to be restored to the starting XI. Giorgio Chiellini and Chiesa could also be included from the first whistle on Friday.

Italy will continue to play on the front foot, taking the game to Belgium and pressing high up the pitch out of possession. The Red Devils fielded a back three with a combined age of 100 in their victory over Portugal last weekend, and the Italians' speed and movement could cause problems for the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Thomas Vermaelen.

Belgium have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their trip to Munich, with Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne both unlikely to feature due to injuries picked up in that bruising win against Portugal. Belgium successfully contained Cristiano Ronaldo and co. in that match and will look to do the same to Italy here.

Romelu Lukaku has been among the standout performers at Euro 2020, and he will be more important than ever in the absence of De Bruyne and Hazard. If Italy can keep the striker quiet, they will have an excellent chance of progressing to the last four.

Kick-off is at 8pm BST and the game is being shown on BBC One/BBC iPlayer. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch a Belgium v Italy live stream from outside your country

If you’re out of the country for any Euro 2020 fixtures, then annoyingly your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You'll be blocked from watching it, which is not ideal if you still want to catch Harry Kane's in-swinging corners without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.

But assistance is on hand. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. All the info going between is entirely encrypted – and that's a result.
