Quiz! Can you name the 32 players with most touches in the Premier League this season?

Jorginho Chelsea

Look out, dear reader, across the vast expanse of the Premier League: possession football, as far as the eye can see.

Er, no, not Turf Moor – that’s the exception that proves the rule.

In the post-tiki-taka world – a world of overlapping centre-backs, inverted full-backs, gegenpressing, and Jose Mourinho not being able to get a job – possession is king. Most teams now play with the radical that having the ball is a good thing.

But which players have adapted to that best of all?

Below you’ll find the 32 players who have touched the ball most often in the 2019/20 season so far. Yes, over the 11 matches so far this season, this lot have touched a Premier League ball at least 730 times – with five having over 1,000 touches.

This isn’t the kind of stat you often come across, so as well as the number of touches and the club they play for, we’re giving you each player’s nationality to help you along. Aren’t we nice?

You have eight minutes to name as many as you can – let us know how you get on by sending your score to @FourFourTwo on Twitter, and see if a friend can do any better.
