Only eight nations have ever won a World Cup in the 92 years that the competition has been going.

There have been some close seconds. In 1954, one of the shocks of the tournament happened in the final, as the favourites missed out on the trophy. In the 1930s, one of the great powerhouses of world football couldn't quite go all the way, while in the 1970s, one side became the "greatest to never win the World Cup".

But we're not focusing on them, today.
