THEN TRY Quiz! Can you name the 12 Asian nations to have played at the World Cup?

In 1977, Pele famously predicted that an African team would win the World Cup before 2000. We may still be waiting for that prophecy to come true but Africa has provided us with some of the greatest footballers of all time on the biggest stage of all.

Eusebio, for example: the Portuguese genius scooped the Golden Boot in 1966 but he was born in Africa. Arsenal fans used to sing that Patrick Vieira was from an African nation (we won't tell you which one) and he won the World Cup in 1998 for France. Even at the tournament this year, Alphonso Davies was born in a refugee camp in Africa before representing Canada.

The continent has certainly given plenty to the world but today, we're looking specifically at African nations at the World Cup. They've lit up the tournament with noise and exuberance for decades, now. But who from the CAF confederation has been to the greatest show on Earth?

Listed in this quiz is every side in Africa. Just pick the 12 who have qualified for a World Cup.
