This list could all change if Arsene Wenger has his way.
The former Arsenal boss is now working at FIFA and he has a plan. He'd like for the World Cup to be staged every two years rather than every four. It doesn't just put a spanner in the European Championship.
It means that many of the names on this list will be erased. The top appearance makers in World Cup history are the ones who have had the longevity to appear at multiple tournaments over their careers, playing themselves into form every four years to be selected.
