Golden generations, eh? We know all about them in England.
And now, the Belgians do, too. It seems as if producing a cracking collection of footballers is not merely enough to qualify for one. There are other tangibles.
A true golden generation has to be overloaded in specific positions and utterly imbalanced in others. They have to generally be the focal points from different clubs. And most importantly, they have to fail spectacularly.
That's what connects ourselves and the Belgians on this one. Let's hope Steve McLaren doesn't step forward to manage them in this testing time…
